Summary
The Lucky Cat was a good luck charm given to a college student by their grandmother. The student was in college for their business degree and needed all the help they could get. At first, they just regarded the silly cat plushie as nothing more than a funny gift from their grandparent. Placing it on the shelf above their workstation. But as they failed more tests. They began to lose faith in everything else. Having nowhere else to turn. They, in desperation, started talking to their lucky cat plushies. Out of all, the options they offered the pennies from their pocket and a handful of goldfish snacks from their computer desk. “Please let me pass!” They prayed before bed. It just so happened they passed their test the next morning. The plushie, with no actual power of its own, became that boy's GOOD LUCK CHARM. And he trusted them for many more years to come.
The lucky cat became a family heirloom. Being passed down from one person to the next. With each new generation of people, their power over the family grew. And soon they started to believe the doll had good luck powers. The last owner's husband even made him a tiny wooden shrine to sit in the family's living space. Rewarding them with snacks every Sunday. And coins before exams. Some of the children would even place their passing test into the shrine, as a thank you. They were truly beloved. Such love and devolution filled the tiny doll. And one day they manifested into something more. The small doll was then placed in the family tomb for protection. While the nercrobie who was born from it became the family's treasure and most well-kept secret. That is, until recently when the latest son made the diction to move to the city to study. Convincing the family to let him take the necrobie with him. Not that it stops Maneki from sneaking off between classes to ShopStreet.
The small bossy necrobie, full of devotion and spoiled by the family for years. Does seem a bit entitled, at times. They are lazy and needy. Requesting sushi and fish-shaped snacks almost endlessly. They don't like to be left alone long. And often demanding respect. They were treated as important and now. . They feel important.
